Project Description
Stunning Country House & Gardens
Slet in the Derbyshire Countryside, Chatsworth House and Gardens is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and has been passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish family.
The house has just undergone a major restoration where skilled men and women have discovered hidden corners of the house, by peeling back layers to share stories past and present.
Chatsworth House is renowned for the quality of its art, landscape and hospitality, and it has evolved through the centuries to reflect the tastes, passions and interests of succeeding generations. Today, Chatsworth houses works of art that span 4,000 years, from ancient Roman and Egyptian sculpture, and masterpieces by Rembrandt, Reynolds and Veronese, to work by outstanding modern artists, including Lucian Freud, Edmund de Waal and David Nash.
There are over 30 rooms to explore, from the magnificent Painted Hall, regal State Rooms, restored Sketch Galleries and beautiful Sculpture Gallery.
Gardens
Famous for its rich history, historic and modern waterworks and sculptures, its Victorian rock garden and maze, there is something for everyone in the 105-acre Chatsworth Garden.
Shopping and Eating
In addition to the house and gardens, there are various places to stop for something to eat and drink from cafe’s takeaways to our Cavendish Restaurant. The award winning farm shop and restaurant is also just a short drive from the main house.
